In order to monetize, your channel shall get 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours within a year.
Things that you can do to achieve that are : 1. Make sure your contents will make someones happier or more knowledgeble. 2. Promote your videos thru email, chat groups, social medias and any other suitable platform. Join related FB groups and promote it there. 3. Focus on having a clear description and keywords for your video so that it will come top in someone's search result 4. Add some 'decorations' onto your videos such as background music, subtitle, relevant photos, content separators etc. 5. Learn some techniques to make your videos look more 'professional' such as applying good photography/videography techniques. Take video from different angles, use extra lighting, use prop etc. 6. Short videos are better than longer ones. 3 minutes shall be the benchmark. Unless your contents are really good and can make viewers watch for more than 30 minutes, better to make short ones but can get higher views. 7. Respond and engage with commenters and subscribers. It is good for them to come back to watch your others videos. 8. Help other new YouTubers by subscribe their channels but don't deal to much with 'sub4sub'. 9. Keep uploading your videos frequently but better to focus on single concept or topics. I don't think it is good to have rojak style videos. It will confuse potential subscribers / viewers. However you may use the playlist feature in case you have multiple types of contents. 10. Check out other relevant YouTube channels, leave some comments and share link to your channel as well. For the record, I managed to monetize my videos within a year.
